Report text is the one of six genres taught, it is slightly similar to descriptive text It makes us sometimes quite difficult to differ. However if we analyze the two texts carefully, the two type of texts are different.to be closely familiar to the report genre, follow the explanation below:

The definition of Report text

A text which presents the features of people, thing, and animal through the systematic observation and analysis. Moreover, report text is written after more carefully observation.

Principally, the way of starting to write Report text must be follow the generic structure of Report text, sentence connector, and the language use in the text. Commonly, the generic structures of Report text are general classification and description. On the other hand, the language use is simple present tense.

In brief, those elements can be studied through the explanations given below;

A. The General classification : Classify the thing, people or animal to be observed and analyzed.

B. Description : Describe the thing, people or animal clearly.

C. Language : use simple present for saying thing, people or animal as they did.
